The present invention relates to a battery module where plate-type battery cells are formed in a module case. The battery module comprises: a battery cell laminator of a stack structure where battery cells are adjacent in a lateral direction; at least one thermoelectric element which removes heat generated in the battery cell laminator by a conduction method; a temperature sensor installed between the battery cells; and a battery management system (BMS) located on a side of the module case, controlling an operation of the thermoelectric element based on information from the temperature sensor.
