<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for carrying out aldol condensation reaction to produce an aldol condensation product from an aldehyde and pyruvic acid under a milder condition compared with conventional organic chemical reaction method. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided a polypeptide derived from Sulfolobus tokodaii which is a heat-resistant archaebacterium and having 2-keto-3-deoxygluconic acid aldolase activity; a DNA encoding the polypeptide; and a method for producing the aldol condensation product by aldol condensation reaction using the polypeptide. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
