The intention is to substantially simplify and improve a method for producing a rotary vibration damper (10) having a hub part (6), which can be connected in a rotationally fixed manner to a shaft, and a flywheel rim part (8), which is connected to the hub part (6) by means of an elastomer layer (12), wherein the elastomer layer (12) is arranged in a gap between the flywheel rim part (8) and a region (5) of the hub part (6) that is coaxial to the flywheel rim part (8), the hub part (6) and the flywheel rim part (8) are initially produced in the form of a single-piece workpiece and then the hub part (6) and the flywheel rim part (8) are mechanically separated from each other. This is achieved in that, to form the single-piece workpiece (2), first a blank plate (1) is formed into a well shape in such a manner that the single-piece workpiece (2) has adjacent to the well bottom (3) the coaxial region (5) of the hub part (6), adjacent thereto a radially extended annular or conical web region (7) and adjacent thereto the flywheel rim part (8), wherein the single-piece workpiece (2) is then divided into the hub part (6) and the flywheel part (8) by separation of the annular web region (7) in the axial direction. |
