PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently encode an image relatively to the prior arts.SOLUTION: An image encoding method includes: calculating a prediction direction of intra-prediction in an image of a color difference in a shape different from that of an image of a luminance for each processing unit; performing the intra-prediction on the image of the color difference in the processing unit in a second direction that is defined by intra-prediction of the luminance indicating an opposite direction to a predetermined first direction when the calculated prediction direction is the first direction; and encoding the image of the color difference on the basis of a result of the intra-prediction. Further, the image encoding method includes: calculating a prediction method of intra-prediction in the image of the luminance of which the shape is different from that of the image of the color difference, for each processing unit; performing the intra-prediction on the image of the color difference in the processing unit in a second direction defined by the intra-prediction of the color difference indicating an opposite direction to a predetermined first direction when the calculated prediction direction is the first direction; and encoding the image of the color difference on the basis of a result of the intra-prediction. |
