摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To scavenge EGR gas residing downstream of an EGR valve in an EGR passage when the EGR valve closes, in an internal combustion engine having a first bank and a second bank.SOLUTION: Each bank provides compressors 18a1 and 18b1. A first upstream intake passage 12a2 which is at upstream of the first compressor 18a1 and a second upstream intake passage 12b2 which is at upstream of the second compressor 18b1 are provided. The first upstream intake passage 12a2 and the second upstream intake passage 12b2 communicate via a confluent EGR passage 34c, provided at downstream side of an EGR valve 38. A WGV28a or 28b is controlled so as to yield a pressure difference between pressure in the first upstream intake passage 12a2 and pressure in the second upstream intake passage 12b2, after the EGR valve 38 is controlled from an open state to a full closed state during operation of an internal combustion engine 10.
