PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device which can correctly position a transportation article by correcting a deviation amount of the article due to a thermal effect even if the article comprises a high temperature article.SOLUTION: According to a positioning method a transportation article, a wedge-shaped positioning liner 3, which is provided at a tip of a positioning device 12, is engaged with a recess 4 which is formed on a side face of a transportation article 1 pitch-fed on a conveyor 11. The positioning liner 3 is so formed as to include a wedge tip 14 having a large angle and a wedge root part 15 having a small angle. Firstly, a stop position of the transportation article is corrected in a short stroke by the wedge tip 14, and then, the article is held by the wedge root part 15 with a large correction force. |
