PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain electric erosion of a peripheral area of a motor while a motor output is maintained at a user-requested output.SOLUTION: An ECU estimates resistance strength against electric erosion and electric load (stress) of a bearing that supports a rotation shaft of a motor in a rotatable manner, and determines whether there is a possibility that electric erosion will occur according to the estimated strength and stress. When it is determined that there is a possibility that electric erosion will occur, the ECU changes a frequency of a carrier signal used in PWM control of an inverter that supplies current to the motor, thereby restraining electric erosion of the bearing while maintaining an output of the motor at a user-requested output. |
