PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection of complications of cardiac catheterization.SOLUTION: Cardiac ablation is monitored to detect hemopericardium by the steps of: iteratively acquiring magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data that includes the pericardium; measuring the pericardium by analyzing the plural sets of MRI data; making a determination that a measurement of the pericardium in consecutive sets of MRI data differ; and responsively to the determination, reporting a change in a configuration of the pericardium.
