PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain character recognition processing data hard to cause erroneous reading by appropriately separating a background from a character for a character recognition object written with the character on the background in which various colors coexists.SOLUTION: An optical character recognition device 1 includes: color image acquisition means 2 for acquiring a color image including a character of a recognition object; character recognition processing data output means 3 for outputting character recognition processing data from the acquired color image; and character recognition processing means 4 for applying the character recognition processing to the outputted character recognition processing data. The character recognition processing data output means 3 generates a plurality of single color images from the acquired color image, and outputs binary processing data of the single color image in which a separation degree at the time of applying the binary processing to each single color image is the maximum as the character recognition processing data. |
