<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method capable of obtaining distance information in a shorter processing time. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing method includes: a step for photographing a first image and a second image; a total value calculation step for allowing addition means 241 to calculate a first total value of the first image and a second total value of the second image; an approximate average value calculation step for allowing shift means 242 to calculate a first approximate average value by shifting the first total value to the right by a predetermined number of bits and a second approximate average value similarly; an integral multiple step for allowing integral multiple means 243 and 244 to multiply the value of each pixel data in small regions of the first image and the second image by an integer; and a correlation value calculation step for allowing correlation value calculation means 249 to obtain each of first data obtained by subtracting the first approximate average value from the value obtained by multiplying the value of the pixel data by an integer and second data obtained by subtracting the second approximate average value from the value obtained by multiplying the pixel data by an integer, and calculating the square-sum of the difference between the first data and the second data for each pixel data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
