PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component mounting method that can suppress occurence of adsorption error irrespective of instability of the action of a carrier tape in a stop process of the carrier tape.SOLUTION: An adsorption error countermeasure processing which is executed when an adsorption error sequentially occurs at a predetermined number of times comprises: a first imaging step (ST24) of imaging a packet when a set time elapses after pitch feeding (ST23); a second imaging step (ST25) of imaging the pocket again; a pocket position detecting step (ST26) of detecting a first pocket position and a second pocket position; and a positional displacement determining step (ST27) of determining whether the pocket position displacement amount corresponding to the difference between the first pocket position and the second pocket position is within a permissible range. When the pocket position displacement amount is not within the permissible range, the first imaging step (ST24), the second imaging step (ST25), the pocket position detecting step (ST26) and the positional displacement determining step (ST27) are successively and iteratively executed while the set time is extended until the pocket position displacement amount falls into the permissible range, and when the pocket position displacement amount is within the permissible range, the set time is updated. |
