PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of achieving both longevity of an HDD and reduction in startup time of the image forming device.SOLUTION: An image forming device includes: a storage device 31 that operates in a first power state and stops in a second power state; human detection means 25 for detecting a human; return transition control means 41 for performing the transition from the first power state to the second power state when a predetermined condition is met, and performing the return from the second power state to the first power state when the human detection means detects a human in the second power state; transition frequency recording means 42 for counting the number of times of the transition from the second power state to the first power state and causing a second storage device 28 to store the number of times; and return frequency control means 44 for reducing the frequency of the return from the second power state to the first power state according to the result of comparison between the number of times for a period of time after the image forming device is installed and the lifetime information on the first storage device. |
