PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer that has excellent low-temperature fixability and storage stability, and extended life.SOLUTION: There is provided a toner that includes toner particles containing a colorant, amorphous polyester, crystalline polyester, and ester wax, and hydrophobic silica externally added to the toner particles and having an average primary particle diameter of 8 to 35 nm. The ester wax includes a plurality of ester compounds that are obtained through reaction of an alkylcarboxylic acid component and an alkyl alcohol component and have the carbon number selected from the carbon numbers of 32 to 54. When the ion strength ratios of the ester compounds having different carbon numbers are represented in percentage, the content a of the ester compound having the carbon number (Cn) indicating the maximum strength ratio is 20 to 55 wt.% of the total ester wax, and the content of the ester compound having the carbon number of 38 or less is 10 wt.% or less of the total ester wax. The total amount g of the content e of the ester compound having the carbon number (Cn+2) and the content f of the ester compound having the carbon number (Cn+4) satisfies 0.065≤g/a≤0.200. |
