PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce bearing temperature at the time when the rotor of a rotary machine rotates at high peripheral speed, and prevent damage of a turbulence promotion part.SOLUTION: In a journal bearing device having a housing storing a journal 1 of a rotor in a rotary machine, a turbulence promotion part is provided on the inner peripheral surface of the housing opposite to the journal 1, and in a bearing gap 4 between the journal 1 and the inner peripheral surface of the housing, lubricant is filled. The turbulence promotion part is arranged on the upstream side of lubricant flow with respect to the load direction of the inner peripheral surface of the housing and on the downstream side of lubricant flow with respect to a position where the thickness of an oil film of lubricant is minimum in a state where the rotor rotates. |
