<p>Provided is a hub unit capable of reducing load on a rider in a configuration capable of generating regenerative power and also provided is a power-assisted bicycle. The hub case (20) of a hub unit (4) houses a motor (3) and rotates integrally with a front wheel (5). The hub unit (4) includes a one-way clutch (22) and a coupling releasing mechanism (61). The one-way clutch (22) transmits an auxiliary driving force from an output shaft (60) to the hub case (20) via a decelerating mechanism (21) and decouples the hub case (20) from a rotor (29) on the side of the output shaft (60). The coupling releasing mechanism (61) releases the coupling between the hub case (20) and the output shaft (60) when the motor (3) does not generate regenerative power, so that the one-way clutch (22) is brought into a state capable of exerting the function thereof. Accordingly, when no auxiliary driving force assist is required, a rider can effortlessly pedal without bearing a load of idling the rotor (29).</p> |
