PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a glass fiber molding without dispersion of binder, without excessive inclusion of water and without heating up to a high temperature of about 480°C or more for fusing or drawing of glass fibers.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method of manufacturing a glass fiber molding by holding glass wool between compression plates of a pressure molding machine. The glass wool held by the compression plates is compressed while hot air blown out of a plurality of hot air ejection holes arranged at the compression surfaces of the pair of oppositely facing compression plates of the pressure molding machine is passed through the glass wool, to attain the compression-molded glass fiber molding. The glass fiber molding is manufactured at a temperature of the hot air that is lower than a strain point of glass forming the glass wool by about 50 to 150°C. |
