<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide each of travel modes with different driving power characteristic, in a case when a vehicle of which maximum drive force is comparatively small, has a plurality of modes as the travel modes. <P>SOLUTION: When a driver selects a S (normal) mode or an I (economy) mode as the travel mode, an engine and shift transmission are controlled on the basis of target drive force.
