PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing technology for estimating a color of a light source that illuminates a subject within an inputted image, with high accuracy on the basis of a calculation result of a pixel differential value between pixels when estimating the color of the light source.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: calculation means 106, 108, 110 and 112 for calculating a differential value between a pixel value of a target pixel and a pixel value of a proximity pixel proximate to the target pixel at a plurality of different pixel intervals, respectively, for an input image; and light source estimation means 113 for estimating the color of the light source illuminating a subject of the input image. The light source estimation means 113 estimates the color of the light source on the basis of a differential value selected from among the plurality of differential values calculated by the calculation means 106, 108, 110 and 112 at the plurality of different pixel intervals. |
