PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion apparatus capable of reducing switching loss while suppressing an increase in useless time up to output of a voltage command, and to provide a control unit and a control method of the power conversion apparatus.SOLUTION: A power conversion apparatus according to one embodiment includes a power conversion unit and a control unit. The power conversion unit includes a plurality of switching elements. The control unit outputs a PWM signal obtained by adjusting a first period for outputting zero voltage and a second period for outputting non-zero voltage in accordance with a voltage command. The control unit outputs a PWM signal obtained by combining one first period and one or more second periods to the power conversion unit in each updating period of the voltage command.
