PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device in which loss of light guided by an optical fiber is reduced and which can perform stable light amount detection.SOLUTION: A light source device includes: an optical fiber 18 for guiding light source light emitted from the light source; and a light detection part 20 for detecting a light amount of the light source light guided by the optical fiber 18. The light detection part 20 includes: a photodetector 26 for outputting a signal showing a light amount of incident light; light extraction means 22 which extracts a part of the light source light guided by the optical fiber 18 from the optical fiber 18 as detection light, and which is provided at one part of the optical fiber 18; and detection light optimizing means 24 which changes the detection light extracted from the optical fiber 18 by the light extraction means 22 into the light of optical characteristics appropriate for light amount detection by the photodetector 26.
