PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a configuration in which foreign matters stuck in between the irregularity of a surface of a roughening roller 400 are adequately removed.SOLUTION: A roughening roll 400 includes irregularity on a surface thereof, and rubs a fixing belt 105 with the surface of the roughening roller 400 to maintain the roughness of the surface of the fixing belt 105 at adequately low level over a long time. The surface of the roughening roller 400 is cleaned by a cleaning roller 415 having a plurality of pile yarns which stand on the surface of the cleaning roller 415. The plurality of pile yarns of the cleaning roller 415 has a fiber diameter of an average gap Sm or less of the irregularity of the surface of the roughening roller 400. Thereby, fine foreign matters stuck in between the irregularity of the roughening roller 400 are adequately removed. |
