PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cage for a spherical thrust roller bearing and its process of manufacture in which high reliability at a connecting and fixing part between a base body and a connecting member is attained and its productivity can be improved while deformation of a column part is prevented when a connecting and fixing step is carried out.SOLUTION: This invention is constituted in such a way that a base body 2 comprises a small diameter ring part 4 and columns 5, 5..., with rectangular column-like salients installed at the tip ends of the columns 5, and comprises first protrusion pieces 11, 11 protruding from peripheral front and rear surfaces at the base ends of the rectangular column-like salients and second protrusion pieces 12, 12 positioned at the small diameter ring part 4 of each of the first protrusion pieces 11, 11, protruding from the peripheral front and rear surfaces and shorter than the first protrusion pieces 11, 11; and a connector 3 composed of a large-diameter ring part 6 and provided with rectangular holes into which the rectangular column-like salients are inserted are applied as separate members, each of them is manufactured on the basis of a blank from a cut and processed steel plate and they are connected and fixed through an oscillation and fastening process under a state in which the rectangular column-like salients of the base body 2 are being inserted into the rectangular holes of the connector 3. |
