PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection device which is high in reliability for constraining a lower leg of an occupant while surely operating at a vehicle collision by an inexpensive and simple constitution.SOLUTION: When a front collision of a vehicle occurs, an inertia force generated by the front collision of the vehicle acts on a mass body 5, the mass body 5 moves frontward by the inertia force, and upper ends of both arm members 3 rotate forwardly, lower ends of both the arm members 3 thereby rotate backwardly, a knee bolster 6 is protruded from a seat back 1b toward a lower leg of an occupant, both the arm members 3 are held in a state that the lower ends of both the arm members 3 rotated backwardly by a prescribed amount, the lower leg (knee) of the occupant at a rear seat who tries to move frontward by a front collision abuts on the knee bolster 6, and the knee bolster 6 constrains the lower leg (knee) of the occupant while pressing the lower leg. |
