PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system which allow concentration of mercury-containing wastewater without increase of the sludge quantity.SOLUTION: A treatment method of mercury-containing wastewater comprises charging mercury-containing wastewater D containing organic matter into a distillation oven 10 to distill under such a low pressure that the boiling point of water becomes equal to or lower than the temperature denaturating the organic matter, discharging the distillate W produced in the distillation and concentrating mercury in the residual liquid S after the distillation. An adsorption device 30 for removing residual mercury in the distillate W is provided in a discharge path 17 for the distillate W. The pressure of the low-pressure distillation is preferably such a pressure as to yield a boiling point of water of 65 degrees or lower. |
