<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, in which a toner deposition amount can be appropriately grasped by using a sensing part and conditions for toner image formation can be appropriately set even in a large deposition amount area with a large deposition amount of toner or even when accuracy of mounting the sensing part is not so high. <P>SOLUTION: A color printer 1 comprises: a light-emitting element 51; a light-receiving element 52 at a diffusion reflection position; and a table correlating a quantity of received light to a toner deposition amount in a range where an increase degree of the quantity of received light by the light-receiving element is constant with respect to an increase of the toner deposition amount. The printer acquires quantities of received light by the light-receiving element from a plurality of toner patches with different conditional values; acquires toner deposition amounts of the plurality of toner patches from the acquired plurality of quantities of received light and from the table correlating a quantity of received light to a toner deposition amount; calculates a conditional value where a toner deposition amount reaches a target value by using the acquired plurality of toner deposition amounts and conditional values when the respective toner patches are formed; and determines the calculated value as a value to be used upon forming an image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
