PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an absorbent body, capable of effectively preventing positional deviation of an upper layer absorbent body in the state of wearing the absorbent article or in manufacturing steps of the absorbent article.SOLUTION: There is provided the method for manufacturing the absorbent body 4 having a protruding portion 42 which is formed on an excremental portion opposing region A, has a thickness larger than that of a peripheral portion 41 and protrudes toward an excremental portion of a wearer. This method includes: a step of supplying an absorbent body precursor 4' having a lower layer 60 and an upper layer 62 to a compressor to compress the precursor 4'. In the compressing step, a portion of the precursor 4' corresponding to at least a part of the peripheral region of the upper layer 62 of the precursor 4' in plan view is compressed with stronger force than a portion corresponding to a central region of a width direction of the upper layer 62 of the precursor 4' in plan view, thereby integrating the upper and lower layers. |
