摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expandable thermoplastic resin particle that is appropriate for preliminary foam and the molding in a mold at low temperature, and is excellent in flame retardancy. <P>SOLUTION: The expandable thermoplastic resin particle comprises a thermoplastic resin in which the monomer composition includes: at least 95 wt.% and at most 99 wt.% of styrene; and at least 1 wt.% and at most 5 wt.% of acrylate, wherein the absorbance ratioα(A<SB POS="POST">1730</SB>/A<SB POS="POST">696</SB>) at 696 cm<SP POS="POST">-1</SP>and 1,730 cm<SP POS="POST">-1</SP>obtained from the infrared absorption spectrum measured by ATR-FTIR of the expandable thermoplastic resin particle surface is at least 1.0 time and at most 10 times of the absorbance ratioβ(A<SB POS="POST">1730</SB>/A<SB POS="POST">696</SB>) obtained from the infrared absorption spectrum of an expandable thermoplastic resin preliminary foamed particle center part, and a bromine-based flame retardant is included, and the bromine content is at least 0.37 wt.% and less than 2.70 wt.%.
