METHOD AND APPARTUS FOR REGISTERING MEDICAL IMAGES

Provided are a method for matching medical images and a device thereof. The method for matching medical images comprises the following steps of: setting the axis of a probe as a reference axis wherein the axis of the probe is arranged in parallel with the axis of a target object; extracting a first object from a first medial image obtained through the probe; extracting a second object from a second medial image wherein modality of the second medial image is different from modality of the first medial image; and aligning the first object and the second object by using a reference axis, thereby matching the first medial image with the second medial image.
