FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary science and animal agriculture and aims at the non-specific immunoprophylaxis of bovine respiratory diseases. A method involves treating calves with plant-based aerosol. The plant-based preparation contains a mixture of common pine buds (Gemmue Pini), purple Echinacea (Ehinacea purpurea L.) herb and blossom clusters, wild sunflower (Inula Neleium L.) rhizomes and roots in ratio 2:1:1, which is filled with 70% ethanol in ratio 1:5. The mixture is kept in a dark place at temperature 18-20°C for 7 days, strained, squeezed to remove the herbal raw material, and filtered. The preparation is used as 3.5% aqueous solution with Xymedone Hydrochloride at 4 g of Xymedone Hydrochloride in 100 ml of the plant-based preparation. The produced mixture is used to treat the calves three times every 72 hours in a dose of 3.0-5.0 ml/mfor 40-45 minutes.EFFECT: method provides the adequate intensity of defence reactions in clinically healthy calves that is manifested by increasing the prophylactic effectiveness, as well as by expanding in the number of mild cases responding to the treatment, and by reducing the length of the treatment.4 tbl, 3 ex |
