PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to prevent temperature increase of a transistor even if a large current flows, to reduce costs for manufacturing the apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a power source section which supplies power to a power load relating to image formation, through a power line; an interlock switching section SW401 which is connected to the power source section, and supplies/cuts off power from the power source section, according to opening/closing of opening/closing means formed on the body of the apparatus; a protection element F402 which is arranged closer to the power load than the interlock switching section; and a power supply circuit which is arranged closer to the power load than the protection element, to control power to be supplied to a booster circuit having at least a transformer T422 and a transistor TR417. The power supply circuit includes time constant circuits C501, R406 for mitigating rise time of a voltage to be output to the booster circuit. |
