PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect an outer ring part of a roller electrode for seam welding to a substrate part without softening the outer ring part, and to prevent leakage of cooling water from a cooling water passage.SOLUTION: A roller electrode for seam welding having a cooling water passage 18 in which cooling water circulates in the inside of the roller electrode 14 has an outer ring part 17 made of chromium copper and formed in an annular shape, and a disc-shaped substrate part 16 fitted to the inner periphery of the outer ring part 17. Since the outer ring part 17 is heated to a temperature lower than a softening temperature of chromium copper, and shrink-fitted to the substrate part 16, and the cooling water passage 18 is formed between the outer peripheral surface of the substrate part 16 and the inner peripheral surface of the outer ring part 17, a situation can be prevented in which the chromium copper outer ring part 17 is heated to a softening temperature or higher and softened, is deformed due to a load during the welding, and becomes unusable. In addition, the substrate part 16 and the outer ring part 17 are firmly connected by the shrink-fitting so that the leakage of cooling water from the cooling water passage 18 can be reliably prevented. |
