The multi-functional homecare system may further include a controlling device that includes a control unit that is operable to transmit a new prescription schedule to the dispensing device in order to replace a previous prescription schedule. |

a network; a dispensing device including
a housing,a memory configured to store a prescription schedule,a display device,a video camera,at least one speaker,a cooling system,a power supply,a power input port,a first cover and second cover each having a locking latch to lock the first and second cover, respectively, to the housing,a rechargeable battery, andcircuitry configured to initiate and receive audio/video calls from a controlling device via the network, video camera and at least one speaker, whereinthe housing including a plurality of compartments having a first size to store a first medication and at least one compartment having a second size to store a second medication, andthe first cover covering the first plurality of compartments having a first size, the second cover covering the at least one compartment having a second size; the controlling device including
a housing,a display device,a transmitter,a video camera,at least one speaker, andcircuitry configured to initiate and receive audio/video calls to and from the dispensing device via the network, controlling device video camera and at least one speaker of the controlling device; and wherein the circuitry of the controlling device transmits instructions and a new prescription schedule to the dispensing device, wherein the circuitry of the dispensing device unlocks the locking latch of at least one of the first cover and the second cover based on the instructions and a most recent prescription schedule stored in the dispensing device memory wherein the control unit of the controlling device includes circuitry to send instructions to the dispensing device to replace the most recent prescription schedule with the new prescription schedule. |
