The present invention relates to a surgical instrument for an orthopedic medical operation, particularly to a technical solution of the cutting head of an expandable orthosis device comprising an outer sleeve tube; a push rod is disposed in the inner cavity of the outer sleeve pipe; the top end of the push rod is fixed with two sheet metal cutting knives; the top end of the outer sleeve pipe has an enclosed end; the side wall of the outer sleeve pipe is provided with two strip-shaped cutting knife protruding openings corresponding to the two sheet metal cutting knives, such that the two sheet metal cutting knives protrude outward at the two corresponding cutting knife protruding openings; a central separation plate is fixed on the enclosed end of the outer sleeve pipe between the two sheet metal cutting knives; and a deviation exists for the distance between the top ends of the two cutting knife protruding openings and the enclosed end of the outer sleeve pipe; particularly, the deviation of the distance between the top ends of the two cutting knife protruding openings and the enclosed end of the outer sleeve pipe is in the range of 2-20 millimeters.
