The present invention relates to a lactic acid-producing Saccharomyces Sp. microorganism with reduced activities of pyruvate decarboxylase (PDC) and enhanced activities of acetyl-CoA synthetase (ACS) and aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALD). The present invention also relates to a method for producing lactic acid from a culture fluid by culturing the microorganism.
