摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide manufacturing methods of a catalyst layer and an electrode capable of mass-producing a catalyst layer and an electrode while reducing a penetration defect and to provide manufacturing methods of a catalyst layer-electrolyte membrane laminate and a membrane-electrode assembly capable of easily manufacturing a catalyst layer-electrolyte membrane laminate and membrane-electrode assembly with high quality.SOLUTION: For the manufacturing method of the catalyst layer which is formed by laminating at least two unit catalyst layers and in which the number of positions where defects penetrating the unit catalyst layers are overlapped with each other is equal to or less than a predetermined number includes: a preparation step S1 of preparing the at least two unit catalyst layers (1); a collation step S2 of collating defect data indicating the positions of the defects regarding at least two unit catalyst layers selected out of the prepared unit catalyst layers and in which the defect data are acquired (2); and a determination step S3 of determining whether the number of positions where the defects are overlapped with each other in the selected unit catalyst layers is equal to or less than the predetermined number on the basis of the collation of the defect data (3).
