A first device configured to manage a wireless docking environment maintains one or more communication sessions between one or more peripheral devices and the first device. The first device determines if it is in proximity of a second device. In response to determining the first device is in proximity of the second device, the first device relinquishes control of at least one of the one or more communication sessions to the second device.
