PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and a power saving control method which enable a user's apparatus utilizing situation to be estimated by measuring a time by a user's actual break in an event even when an event the condition of which is a user's break occurs, and a higher power saving efficiency to be realized without spoiling a user's convenience from the utilizing situation learning result.SOLUTION: There are an image forming apparatus which comprises: determination means for acquiring state information of the apparatus after an event that image forming operation cannot be continued has occurred to determine whether or not the event has the condition of user's break that needs a user's break; measurement means for measuring a time required to solve the event with a user's actual break; learning means for repeatedly learning the time measured by the measurement means in response to the occurrence of the condition of user's break; calculation means for calculating a time of a transfer from a learning result by the learning means to the power saving mode, and a power saving control method of adapting the function to the image forming apparatus equipped with the power saving mode. |
