PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem of a conventional squirrel-cage motor that since it is open type, and an outer air introduction hole is formed in a cylindrical case, it cannot be employed in a totally enclosed squirrel-cage motor, and to provide a high efficiency totally enclosed squirrel-cage motor.SOLUTION: A circulation fan 5 is mounted in front of a rotor 1 on the shaft 4 in a cylindrical case 2, circulation air produced by the circulation fan 5 is circulated from a rotor side circulation path 15 formed through the rotor 1 in the length direction of the shaft 4, through a stator side circulation path 35 formed between the outer periphery of a stator 3 and the case body 21 of the cylindrical case 2, and extending in the length direction of the shaft. Outer air taken in from an outer air intake port 62 formed in a cover body 6 by means of a cooling fan 7 is then introduced to a cooling pipe 8, and the stator 1 is cooled by heat exchange between the circulation air introduced in the cooling pipe 8 and passing through the stator side circulation path 35 arranged on the outer periphery thereof and the outer air. |
