PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, image processing method, and program for adjusting the temperature of fixing means when heat-fixing image data formed by an electrophotographic system onto a recording sheet.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus according to an embodiment includes toner mounting amount calculation means for calculating a value of the amount of toner mounted from image data; image forming means for forming a toner image from the image data; fixing means for fixing the toner image onto a recording medium; and fixing temperature control means for controlling the fixing temperature of the fixing means according to the value of the amount of toner mounted calculated by the toner mounting amount calculation means. When the calculation of the value of the amount of toner mounted from the image data is not completed within a predetermined time limit, the toner mounting amount calculation means notifies the fixing temperature control means of a provisional value of the amount of toner mounted of the image data. |
