摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axle box suspension capable of changing the balance between the straight line stability during a straight line running time and the turnability during a curve running time.SOLUTION: In a mono-link type axle box suspension, for example, a first bushing 145 and a second bushing 147 to be fitted at two ends of a link 142 are constituted to have a magnetic elastomer. Moreover, adjacent to the first bushing 145 and the second bushing 147, a first system coil 151 and a second system coil 152 for applying magnetic fields to those bushes are arranged. Under the running condition that the axle box suspension is required to have a higher rigidity, the first system coil 151 and the second system coil 152 are systematically energized and magnetized to harden the first bushing 145 and the second bushing 147. Under the running condition of a low rigidity required, the electrification amount is reduced to soften the first bushing 145 and the second bushing 147.
