PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric washing machine in which a lid body rotates in an opening direction when fully opened and in a closing direction when fully closed.SOLUTION: An electric washing machine includes: a top cover 4 placed on an upper part of a washing machine body 1; a lid body 5 supported pivotally around a lid body support shaft 6 between a fully open position and a fully closed position in a rotatable manner, on a top surface of the top cover 4; and lid springs 55a, 55b for energizing the lid body 5 in an opening direction. In a fully closed position of the lid body 5, a force in an opening direction generating from the lid springs 55a, 55b is smaller than a force in a closing direction generating by self-weight of the lid body 5. At a predetermined angle in the middle of the opening/closing operation of the lid body 5, the force in the opening direction generating from the lid springs 55a, 55b and the force in the closing direction generating from the self-weight of the lid body 5 are balanced. When an open angle of the lid body 5 is smaller than the predetermined angle, the lid body 5 rotated in the closing direction and rotates to the fully closed position, and when the open angle of the lid body 5 is larger than the predetermined angle, the lid body 5 rotates in the opening direction and rotates to the fully open position. |
