PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably achieve clock synchronization and presentation synchronization in a broadcast system that performs transmission by an IP system.SOLUTION: Time acquisition information for acquiring decoding time and presentation time for each presentation unit of transmission medium is generated. A broadcast signal that includes the transmission medium and the time acquisition information is transmitted. The time acquisition information, for each presentation unit group that consists of a predetermined number of presentation units of the transmission medium, consists of a presentation time for the first presentation unit of the presentation unit group, and time length information for calculating the decoding time and presentation time of each presentation unit of the presentation unit group by referring the presentation time of the first presentation unit. The broadcast signal includes a first packet including the transmission medium, and a second packet including information related to the transmission medium. The presentation time of the fist presentation unit, and the time length information are inserted into the second packet. |
