PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and high energy-efficiency sheet cooling device configured to cool a special recording sheet which is liable to repel wax, such as coat paper.SOLUTION: A sheet cooling device includes: a cooling plate 74 with thermoelectric transducers 71-73 mounted thereon; a moving mechanism for moving the cooling plate 74 in a direction so as to be brought into contact with/separated from a conveyance path of a recording sheet S; and a secondary battery. When the recording sheet S is coat paper, the cooling plate 74 is kept in a position not in contact with the passing recording sheet S, and cools the recording sheet S with power supplied to the thermoelectric transducers 71-73. When the recording sheet S is plain paper, the cooling plate 74 is moved to a position in contact with the passing recording sheet, and the thermoelectric transducers 71-73 are started as power generation elements, to charge the secondary battery. |
