PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static elimination device for an electric insulation sheet by which surfaces of the electric insulation sheet are positively or negatively charged with reverse polarities and the surfaces are uniformly charged, and a static elimination method.SOLUTION: While moving an electric insulation sheet S, the sheet is irradiated with a first ion of a single polarity EUd of which the polarity is periodically inverted, from a side of a first surface and irradiated with a second ion of a single polarity EUf of which the polarity is substantially reverse to the first ion and is periodically inverted, from a side of a second surface simultaneously with the first ion. The polarities of the first ion and the second ion are inverted in such a manner that the polarities of the first ion and the second ion are inverted once or more while parts of the sheet pass an area to be irradiated with the first and second ions. During one cycle in which the polarity of the first ion and/or the second ion is inverted, a difference is provided between the total quantity of ions of the positive polarity and the total quantity of ions of the negative polarity. |
