An automobile power source device includes: a plurality of storage batteries (1, 2); a power source box (3) interposed between the storage batteries and a load (7); a switch means (18a) provided inside the power source box and adapted to select whether to allow each storage battery to supply power to the load; and a switch control unit (19) for detecting an output voltage of each storage battery and controlling the opening and closing of the switch means so as to select the storage battery for supplying power to the load. The switch control unit (19) enables a storage battery selecting operation by the switch means (18a) on the basis of a control signal (wc) outputted from a load control unit (24) when the load (7) is driven.
