PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray generation tube including an X-ray generation tube target comprising polycrystal diamond having excellent thermal resistance.SOLUTION: A target includes: a target layer that generates an X-ray by being irradiated with electrons; and a support substrate for supporting the target layer. The support substrate is made from polycrystal diamond and has a plurality of constitution planes whose orientation area ratios differ from each other. The target layer is supported by the support substrate on a constitution plane in which an area ratio of 101 plane is smaller than that of 100 plane and that of 111 plane.
