PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a low-profile vehicle door operation device.SOLUTION: A vehicle door operation device comprises: a door latch device; a base plate 2 fixed to a door; an inside handle shaft 22 which is rotatably supported by the base plate 2 and allows an inside handle IH provided at a vehicle interior side to be fixed thereto; an inside lever 3 which is supported by the inside handle shaft 22 in a manner that cannot rotate relative thereto; a release lever 12 connected to the door latch device; another shaft 24 which is supported by the base plate 2 and supports at least the release lever 12 in a manner that can rotate relative thereto; and a child lock lever 4 which can be rotated to a child unlock position to enable movement of the inside lever 3 to be transmitted to the release lever 12 and a child lock position to prevent transmission of the movement. In the vehicle door operation device, the child lock lever 4 is supported by the inside handle shaft 22 in a manner that can rotate relative thereto.
