The present invention provides a medium storage container wherein a handle that is rotatable with respect to a casing is prevented from falling off. A paper currency storage container that is for a paper currency deposit/withdrawal apparatus of an automatic teller machine and that has provided thereto a blocking protrusion that is erected from a rear casing toward the front. During an assembly step for the paper currency storage container, a blocking part of the blocking protrusion can be positioned between an inner surface of a handle-support side part and a retaining protrusion by inserting a rotating shaft of a handle into a shaft hole of a front casing and then attaching the front casing to the rear casing at an appropriate position. As a result, the paper currency storage container can, by means of the blocking protrusion, prevent the retaining protrusion from slipping out of the shaft hole, i.e. can prevent the handle from falling off of the casing, even if the handle has fallen to the side.
