PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology of improving visibility of the outer scenery by detecting that a user tries to operate a control unit of a head-mounted type display device with a structure different from the conventional one in the head-mounted type display device.SOLUTION: A head-mounted type display device includes: an image display unit for allowing a user to visually recognize a virtual image, having an image light generation unit to form and emit image light displaying an image, and a light guide unit which guides the emitted image light to eyes of the user; a control unit having an operation surface which is connected to the image display unit, and controlling image display by the image display unit; and a determination unit which determines whether or not the user is directed to the operation surface of the control unit. When it is determined that the user is directed to the operation surface of the control unit, the control unit adjusts brightness of the image light generation unit so that visibility of the virtual image is reduced, and also adjusts the image light generated by the image light generation unit. |
