PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease power consumption while preventing the generation of a fixation defect.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a fixation heater 13 for supplying heat; a fixation roller held by a holding member and provided within a fixation unit 10 that is heated by the heat to fix an image on paper; a non-contact thermistor 26 that is attached to the holding member, detects the temperature in the vicinity of the fixation roller, and outputs a detection temperature Tnc; and a compensation thermistor 27 that is attached to the holding member, detects the temperature of the holding member, and outputs a compensation temperature Tamb. The image forming apparatus further includes: a paper width setting section 18a for detecting the width of paper and outputting the detected width; and a print control section 20 for controlling the temperature of the fixation roller by changing the control conditions according to the compensation temperature Tamb, the heat generation amount of the fixation heater 13, and the detected width. |
